Movie Review: "This Is The End" Delivers Both Insanity And Hilarity.

This Is The End

Directors: Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen
Cast: James Franco, Seth Rogan, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride.
Rated R for crude and sexual content throughout, brief graphic nudity, pervasive language, drug use and some violence.

Disclaimer: This movie is solely for those who enjoy raunchy and profane comedies. If such comedies are not your thing, then better steer clear from This Is The End. Still interested? Alright then, let's dive in. This Is The End is filled with such bizarre craziness that it often produces gut-busting laughter.

Every actor in this movie is playing themselves, or at least a version of themselves. They could have easily been playing typical characters, but the fact that they have the guts to play themselves and are able to poke fun at one another makes this movie work. There are plenty of celebrity cameos around since James Franco is hosting a party at his new mansion when the end of the world starts to happen killing many, including celebrities.

There really isn't any point in laying out the plot of this bizarre movie. What matters is how these actors react to all the craziness that is happening all around them and how they treat each other. It's absurd, crude, shocking, and hilarious. There is a scene involving an argument between James Franco and Danny McBride that literally (and I do mean literally) had me squealing with laughter. If you like these actors and enjoy a raunchy comedy then this is a must see. If you're easily offended then stay away. Don't say I didn't warn you. I may be going to hell for laughing at this movie, but I couldn't help myself.

RATING:  B+
